Sky Aerobatics

I had the fortunate opportunity to fly thousands of feet above the ground in a Staudacher S-300 with the Air National Guard’s famous John Klatt and Cirrus sponsored Patty Wagstaff.
They are both acrobatic pilot, and I don’t mean people who fly planes and do gymnastics. These guys do their flips, tumbles, and rolls in the air. If your looking for a wild ride, or a quick trip to the vomit bag, this is the way to go.
Honestly, I had an amazing time. We flew tumbles through the sky, did barrel rolls, and even flew upside down for about 2 minutes. With the glass dome encasing you, it feels just like your a bird. At one point we pulled 6 G’s’… quite a facial exercise.
The photographer Aaron Towner was harnessed into a chase plane. With he and their crew on the left and Patty Wagstaff on the right, we took to the skies.
After all was said and done, the fleet returned to base. It was a surreal adventure I won’t soon forget.
